I am thrilled to reveal my third annual Gingerbread House - Santa's Workshop, where Santa Claus and his elves are busy making, wrapping, and shipping out toys and presents for Christmas. Every detail in this house is edible - from the cookie structure, to the fondant elves, chocolate presents, gummy train, rocket-covered roof, candy walkway, and even the Christmas trees! My inspiration for this year's house came from the Santa's Workshop Collectible from Lemax. I printed the design, drew a few changes, made a poster board template, and began baking the gingerbread cookie with my amazing mama. Click here for my gingerbread recipe.
  My mom helped me bake 23lbs of gingerbread! Yep, you read that right! It took us 1 1/2 days to bake it all! Mom, I could not make this house without you. You are a powerhouse in the kitchen. You are my number one champion and my most favourite baking companion! Bulk Barn supplied me with everything to make and decorate this incredible house! I am forever grateful for their support and generosity and I am truly, without a doubt, their number one fan! My friend Saranya from Teesha's lil Cakes taught me how to make the perfect royal icing, colour and roll fondant, make and pipe the windows, and apply candy sprinkles with tweezers! My children Abi and Brookson and neighbours Aiden and Rowan helped me unwrap and glue hundreds of rocket candies to the gingerbread roof. They also made the most adorable fondant elves, cookie reindeer, and gummy train! My mother-in-law helped me with Christmas tree design and landscaping!
This year I added a special touch to the house - Christmas lights! I added white lights to each room and a sting of colourful Christmas lights to the roof. I didn't realize it at the time, but I forgot to turn on half of the roof lights before taking these photos...oops!  Santa's Workshop Gingerbread House - At night with lights So, what do I do with the gingerbread house now? I give it to my children, and they play with it and nibble on it now until Christmas! It's their reward for being patient with me while I'm making it (there are many DO NOT TOUCH moments) and for their help decorating it. Seeing their faces light up when I tell them it's all theirs makes the hours, days, and weeks it took to make this gingerbread house worth it! We made a "version" of this for our annual company ginger bread house competition due this next Wednesday 12/14/22 -I hope we win! our version was not required to be entirely edible but it was challanging and fun to do! We used flat licorice for the roof and made train cargo carts filled with presents and a tool shed for the elves to use. We did each room as shipping, wrapping and production like you did but did not put Santa on the roof but in a sleigh in the front. Totally different than yours but yours was our inspiration!
